EdgeCon Autumn 2025

Rider University
Rider University
October 9, 2025
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

At EdgeCon Autumn 2025, Dune Security joined New Jersey’s higher education and technology leaders for a full day of sessions on cybersecurity, AI, and institutional innovation. Director of Growth Kaila Mathis presented alongside Jeremy Livingston, CISO of Stevens Institute of Technology, in a session focused on how universities can modernize cyber defenses and build lasting resilience.

The presentation detailed how Stevens IT moved beyond outdated compliance training to implement a real-time, adaptive approach to user risk management. By replacing static modules with role-specific testing and training, and integrating with systems such as Workday and Okta, the university quantified user risk, strengthened cyber hygiene across faculty, staff, and students, and reduced institutional exposure without adding administrative burden.

Attendees gained a clear roadmap for reinforcing the human layer of defense in higher education, shifting from awareness to measurable action, and enabling resilience that can scale across campuses, agencies, and entire school systems.
