BSides Connecticut
Dune Security joined BSides Connecticut where Kyle Ryan, our Head of Artificial Intelligence, delivered his presentation AI-Powered Spear Phishing: Precision Attacks at Machine Speed.
The session explored how spear phishing has evolved from manual, one-off emails into AI-driven campaigns that operate at machine speed across multiple channels. Kyle highlighted how adversary groups such as Scattered Spider, APT42, and MuddyWater are using generative AI to enhance social engineering and scale attacks far beyond traditional limits.
He also shared how defenders can adapt by replicating attacker playbooks, quantifying user risk in real time, and delivering targeted remediation at the point of exposure. The talk underscored why protecting the human layer is more urgent than ever, and how organizations can move beyond checkbox awareness to build defenses that reflect the way attacks actually unfold.
